Thursday

4pm Welcome to Denver!

Check in to your AirBnb or hotel, pop a bottle of champagne, and get ready for your evening festivities!

7:30pm Taste of Denver

Once you’ve organized yourselves a bit, get ready to fuel up and kickstart your weekend! The Hornet is an airy, vibrant restaurant & bar with a globally influenced American menu that has been serving the community of Denver for more than 25 years. It has become a favorite for both locals and visitors. The Hornet also has responsible food practices such as their own seasonal, organic farm (tasty AND health-conscious? Win!).

Make sure to order a serving of the artichoke heart fritters (a restaurant favorite) and the lobster mac & cheese. A popular main course is the Honey Stung Chicken (fried chicken breast, cayenne honey, bean succotash, mashers, sausage gravy).

9:30pm Walk Off Dinner

Take a walk around Broadway (maybe pop into a few of the many amazing bars or pop check out Sweet Action for some yummy ice cream) and head back to your place to unwind and get a good night's sleep (you’ll thank me at yoga tomorrow morning).

Friday

9am Detox to Retox with The Balanced Bachelorette!

Your instructor arrives at your Airbnb for an hour-long customized private yoga session, complete with a Mimosa Bar and a playlist of the bride's favorite tunes. You’ll be refreshed and recharged to take on the town.

For some shopping and sightseeing. Plus, with all the mountains and street art, there are plenty of photo ops! Refuel with a coffee at Blue Sparrow Coffee or green juice at the Juicing Tree.

12:30pm Leisurely Brunch

At Lucile’s. Featured on Thrillist’s list: “The Absolute Best Brunch in Denver Right now,” this Boulder-based family business has largely grown in popularity due to its mouth-watering Creole-inspired food. From the giant, flaky buttermilk biscuits that accompany most plates to favorites like Eggs Sardou and New Orleans-style French toast. The beignets alone are worth the trip- especially accompanied by a cup of chicory coffee. Lucile's is THE choice when you need to fuel up for the day.

2pm Recharge

Relax by the pool, sip a local beer or wine, and take some group pics while you are all together during this special time. This is the perfect opportunity to put on those cute matching outfits you've been waiting to wear!

6pm Dinner in Union Station

Union Station is a historic landmark in the heart of Denver and has been for more than a century, a vibrant destination for gathering, dining, drinking, shopping, and more. From Ultreia serving Spanish tapas to Machete Tequila and Tacos for all your Mexican cravings to Stoic & Genuine, a buzzy seafood spot, Union Station has endless restaurants to choose from! Plus, you can walk from place to place if you’d like to bar-hop.

Enjoy your first real meal of the day at Urban Egg, which features local, organic ingredients on its ever-popular menu. You simply can’t go wrong with their fluffy pancakes or creamy eggs Benedict.

The Neighborhoods

Union Station

Situated in the heart of downtown Denver, this renovated 1914 Beaux-Arts train station is one of the city’s most iconic historic landmarks.

  • Union Station farmers market every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm, granting locals and tourists access to the freshest local finds, from fruits and veggies to cheese and fresh-baked bread.

  • Snooze was recommended by multiple Denverites. A must-stop for breakfast/brunch!

  • Cooper Lounge for a more upscale experience, an enchanting Hollywood vibe serving high-end cocktails and an ample wine list.

RiNo (River North Art District)

Trendy neighborhood featuring modern art galleries and hip concert venues. Make sure to check out the colorful murals on Upper Laurent Street!

  • The Source is an artisan market hall that offers boutique shops, a brewery, and six delicious restaurants to choose from. Check out the rooftop bar for the greatest views in town, showcasing both the Rocky Mountains and downtown Denver skyline.

  • Hop Alley has been a popular modern Chinese spot since it was opened by Tommy Lee in 2015. The Beijing Duck Roll rolled up in a scallion pancake with hoisin and cabbage, is a crowd favorite. They also list one of the city’s most progressive wine and cider selections.

Washington Park

Sometimes compared to NYC’s Central Park, “Wash Park,” consists of 155 beautiful green grounds including two lakes. A suburban/urban mix, you can soak in the flower gardens and winding trails and then hop over to the surrounding restaurants/shops on Old South Gaylord St.

  • Taste the flavors from the on-site garden at Bittersweet. Scallops with garlic herb polenta, anyone?

  • Customers say, “service is quick and wonderful” at Homegrown Tap & Dough. Grab a quick, satisfying bite at this rustic-chic pizzeria (which also offers craft brews and wines).

  • Restaurant Olivia serves homemade pasta every night and opens its doors as if welcoming each guest home.

Other Activities

Denver Zipline Tours

Zip across some of Colorado’s longest, fastest ziplines with Denver Zipline Tours, located 30 minutes outside of the city. The course features six zip lines across 1.5 miles, which peak at a speed of 60 miles per hour!

AVA Rafting

Go rafting! You will find a plethora of activities at Rocky Mountain National Park, hiking is the most popular, but when will you ever get to go white water rafting with your best friends? AVA hosts a rafting tour down the Upper Colorado River. Whether you opt for a half or full-day excursion, no experience is required for this memorable experience. The whole party can soak in the quintessential Colorado views as your flow downstream.

Denver Art Museum

The Denver Art Museum is one of the largest art museums between the west coast and Chicago! It is known for its collections of more than 70,000 diverse works from across the centuries and the world.

Denver Botanic Garden

Botanic gardens span more than 24 acres of diverse plants from all areas of the world! It is one of the top five botanic gardens in the country and even offers a sunken amphitheater for concerts.

Transportation

Denver’s public transportation is easy, not cost prohibitive, and convenient. You can get pretty much anywhere by rail or bus, and, like all major cities in the US, Lyft and Uber are a phone tap away.

If you have extra time, you can also get around on foot, which is a wonderful way to explore and exercise at the same time!

Weather

Though Denver gets more annual sunshine than Miami, you will need a warm jacket and boots depending on what time of year you visit.

Spring

Denver's weather in spring is generally mild, with average temperatures ranging from 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. However, it is important to be prepared for changes in the weather, as it can be unpredictable during this time of year. It is often known to rain in spring, so it is a good idea to pack an umbrella. Denver is an amazing place to visit in spring, and one of my favorite times of year. The weather is pleasant and there are many outdoor activities to enjoy!

Some quick tips for Spring in Denver:

  • Pack layers of clothing so you can quickly adjust to the changing weather

  • Bring an umbrella and rainwer

  • Be prepared for cold weather in April

  • Enjoy the many outdoor activities that Denver has to offer!

Summer

Summers tend to bring sun-filled days with cooler evenings due to the low humidity. The weather in Denver in the summer is generally warm and dry, with average temperatures ranging from the high 70s to low 80s. However, it can get quite hot, with temperatures reaching into the 90s on some days. There is also a chance of thunderstorms, so it is always a good idea to pack an umbrella or raincoat.

Fall

Fall is a beautiful time to visit Denver. The weather is usually mild, with average temperatures ranging from 50 degrees Fahrenheit in the morning to 70 degrees Fahrenheit in the afternoon. The leaves on the trees change color, and there are many festivals and events taking place throughout the city. Some of the best things to do in Denver in the fall include:

  • Hiking in the Rocky Mountains

  • Visiting the Denver Botanic Gardens

  • Attending a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre

  • Shopping at Larimer Square

Winter

The winters tend to be mild, with an average daily high of 45 degrees and occasional snowfall that doesn’t stay on the ground long. It is important to dress warmly and pack for all types of weather, as it can be sunny and warm one day and cold and snowy the next.

Mild weather is due in part to the city's mile-high altitude!
